By Road

Norwich has good road links to the rest of the UK. Average journey times are:
  • London 2.5 hours
  • Cambridge 1.5 hours
  • Birmingham 3 hours

From the A47

  • Take the A47 Southern Bypass towards Norwich (East) until the B1108 Junction
  • At the junction with the B1108 branch left (signposted Norwich) and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit B1108
  • At the next roundabout take the 1st exit, signposted Norwich, University
  • At the traffic lights turn right- Norwich Research Park is signposted. For the John Innes Centre use right hand lane and for the Institute of Food Research use the left lane.
  • For the Auditorium, Gallery, Foyer and Seminar rooms use the right hand lane up the hill (signposted John Innes Centre). On entry to the John Innes site turn right into the car park. For disabled parking follow the signs to reception.
  • For the Mini Theatre, Small Foyer and Meeting Room use the left hand lane up the hill (Institute of Food Research). On entry to the Institute of Food Research site, turn right. Delegate parking is available on the grass verge of the driveway. For disabled parking follow the signs to reception.

From the A11

  • Stay on A11 until you reach the Thickthorn Services roundabout
  • At the roundabout take the 2nd exit A47 (signposted Swaffham), then follow the instructions above as for the A47 route.

Bus Timetables:

There is a local bus service from the city centre directly to the Conference Centre. National Express coaches run from all major cities to the Surrey Street bus station in the city centre. For details of bus routes and timetables please see the travel links below.

By Train

Norwich has a fast direct link to London (Liverpool Street Station) with an average journey time of 2 hours with trains at half-hourly intervals. There are links to the Midlands and the North via Peterborough. Taxis are available from the Station with an approximate journey time of 15 minutes to the Conference Facilities. By Air

Norwich International Airport is North of the City which is 30 minutes drive from the Conference Centre. The airport provides links to over 70 European and 400 international destinations via the international hubs of Schiphol and Manchester airports. There are direct links to various UK destinations.

Stansted International Airport is an hour and a half by road, or 2 hours by train, from the Conference Centre. Stansted provides links to UK destinations and various European hubs for onward international connections.

Both Gatwick Airport and Heathrow Airport (London) have good train (via London), coach and road links to Norwich.
